Department of  Mathematics- Computer

      Although mathematics is a branch of science that develops the abilityof thinking and is the basis of all the positive sciences, it can  also be considered as a lifestyle. In order to equip the students with a sound mathematical basis and in this way to help them to be more successful in their own fields, the Department of Mathematics and Computer was openned in Tthe Faculty of Science and Letters  in our university in 2007.
In a paralel of the rapid worldwide developments, the need for the graduates equipped with mathematics and computer skills playing an important role in the organizations of research and development centres, increases day by day. Therefore we prepared the course plans in accordance with the requirements of developing technology and industry. As in many other departments of  our university, in our department it is obligatory fort he students to attend to Prep. School. The courses, Mathematics and Computer,  carry the same weight and  are taught  in the clssrooms supplied with the recent models of computers. Thanks to such facilities, our students capture the opportunities to learn the last technology and their applications. The successful students, in some engineering departments, have the chance of  double major and minor.
In our department we teach not only mathematics and computer but we also emphasize to train our students as citizens who assimilated  the cultural values of our country, respectable to international living styles of humanity, developed their social relations. Therefore our program covers social courses  and activities in addition to computerized applications for the working cycles.
The teaching staff in our department are highly experienced in teaching and training and attended to many national and international professional activities in their own subjects. They have close relations with the students in and outside classes.

The Mission of the Department

       The goal of the Department is to teach basic mathematical knowledge, develop their independent thinking and presupposition probabilities and different viewpoints to solve the problems they encounter thus to produce global solutions. Besides, our department also undertakes the courses of basic mathematics in all the departments at the university. 

Course Plan

       The Department  includes the coueses: basic computer and mathematics, engineering mathematics for the businessmen and that  to be used in the fields of public relations and public opinion poll. On the other hand, the courses concerning general education techniques taken in the other departments will open them career opportunities in different sectors.

Work Opportunities

       Our graduates who have advanced knowlege in mathematics and computer as well as  English,can work in international software companies as manigers, system analysists and in the sector of finance  as software developers, and in case they get teaching formation courses,they can be teachers. If they carry out postgraduate and doctoral studies, they can have convenient positions as academic staff in various universities.

Scholarship Opportunities

 10% of the students who have got 2 grade in the University Entrance Exam will study in our department with 50% scholarship within quota,
